Freehub compatability....Help!

Hi

Looks like I need a new freehub on my rear wheel. The hub is a Shimano M525 which I believe to be a deore one but has no deore markings...can I fit other freehubs to this hub. For example an XT M760 one? Both are 9 speed, is this possible?

Not sure about inter compatibility but that is a deore hub.

agreed, it's more likely to fit than not, but don't buy if unsure... sorry that wasn't helpful was it

From what I have gleaned so far it looks like freehubs really are hub model specific even between different year productions of the same hubss. Mine are deore M525 but different to the M510 deore hub! Confused!...I was but got in touch with a guy who can provide the correct fitment freehub for around £20. So I'll give it a go and I'll let you know how I get on! Shame tho as I fancied putting a better quality one on, looks like you have to change the whole hub, which starts to get way exxpensive!
