Hi. I bought this hub from a fellow retrobike member a while ago and it needs new bearings. Should build into a lovely new wheel I hope! This is the exact hub - viewtopic.php?f=39&t=384605

Does anyone know the exact type of bearings Hope uses? I found this on eBay - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HOPE-MONO-XC ... 1459020735

I don't really want to cut corners with wheel bearings so if anyone has any recommendations and perhaps knows the specs I'd be really grateful for a headsup on the options out there now plus is it easy to pop them out and press in?

Any help much appreciated

The bearing should have some (tiny) writing on it , like "6001 RS", that'll be the size of bearing you'll need.
You could check on the Hope website, the tech docs for the hub should be there... https://www.hopetech.com/product-documents/hubs/

As for bearings, in my experience they all spin as well, but a decent branded bearing should last longer e.g. SKF etc...
