Theres one of these parked in my area from time to time being used a a commuter, lovely lovely bike.Especially like the ivory paint and white decals

I would happily have one too if the lady would tolerate another bike

ouch @ the cracked crank arm. Didnt this bike have Mavic cranks too or were they XC Pro? I remember selling these bikes wayyy back in my earliest days working in a bike shop. Same frame as the MB-1 but better parts right?

The MB Zip was tig weled, while the MB-1 was lugged. I believe it was a lighter frame than the MB-1, but I would have to double check. It was also not Japan or US made; I think phillipines or Taiwan mfg'd, though you are right about the parts being used to build it. It was a combo of international lightweight parts, thus the little flags on the seat tube. Mavics were the crankset on these. Though some of the parts, on top of being light weight, were also further modified by Bridgestone to make them even lighter.

Cool bike, and they don't come up often cause they were only made for a year or two, again, I believe 1990 and 1991. My Bridgestone catalog for 1993 does not have it.

Nice cranks. I've got a pair tucked away, just waiting for the right bike.

I recall the XC Pro pedals were fitted with track cages.

Cool, thanks for the links. I had seen those sometime ago, but my bookmark no longer worked...perhaps cause they were archived.

sold for the $800 asking price. That's the highest I've seen one go in a while...testament to its condition I guess.
