Up for sale is an almost NOS Schwinn Rocket 88 Stage 1 frame, size S, 15"
Flagship XC frame of Schwinn at their golden age (2001), before going bankrupt.
...including a free set of used front/rear triangles too!
Details:
Front and rear triangle is NEW, never used. Nice tapered tubes with lots of custom forged parts.
The two linkage parts are used, with very minor paint blemishes.
Bearings are tight and easy rolling.
Pivot axles are either stock or titanium aftermarket ones.
Special (ICBM) new integrated headset included for 1-1/8" forks. Also one spare set used, but flawless.
Seat collars included - black w/bolt, or red anodised quick release.
27.0 simple black 2 bolt seat post, with some marks.
Needs a 6.5" (165mm) shock. A Fox Vanilla coil-over is included with 700 lbs/in spring (probably too hard for size S).
AND you can also take a slightly used front and rear triangle.
That was mainly built up for my wife, but not needed as she's riding something more colourful now.
So, it's a good chance to get get a good performing, very light, nicely crafted full suspension XC frame!
Travel 3.5" or about 88mm's.
Makes a very good pedaling bike, lots of anti-squat, but quite comfortable too.

The history of these frames - if still reading... I bought the two sets about 10 years ago new from the USA, without suspension linkages, in a saleout.
Found a set of linkages a few years later, bought axles / bolts, headset and shocks, built it up and rode a few times as a second bike.
Then made it a 1x9 setup for my wife, riding occasionally. Last year winter took it apart, now assembled the new frame triangles, all up for sale.
