8 stolen bikes to keep an eye out for

Also a word of note check the wording on your home insurance policy. Some insurance companies have a ceiling as to what they will pay out for a bike some being only £500 in total no matter how many bikes you own.

If you find a company where you can specify an item be sure to check with them that they will not revert to their normal bike payout policy. You will also find that the bikes have to be secured to the garage some way.

further to this the CTC and BCF can help with bike specific insurance also there's a nice product called The Plantlock which helped to resolve an issue i've had with providing a highly effective means of securing bikes without embedding anything in concrete or bolting

The best insurers for bikes is actually M&S home and contents cover, bikes are treated as any other item and no extra clauses apply to them, also the cover is unlimited and as long as the item is less than £4k you don't need to name it.

i personally would be wary, multiple bikes with an overall value in excess of £500 fall into a grey area, i keep my insurance with ctc for the bikes and everything else with nfu mutual both groups are customer led rather than shareholder, i have heard too many horror stories to contemplate moving.
