probably a long shot but has anyone a steerer crown for sale.

Just be careful on what crown you use.
I had a set of XC 400s, and there was a recall on the crowns. They seemed to have milled out too much on the underside, which was causing them to fail.
The crown that was the replacement was the same as on the DH3, so it is a bit more beefy, and not so milled out on the underside.
As a side note, I bought my forks in the US, and the shop in Chicago contacted me in Sydney (Australia) to inform me of the recall. In Australia the distributors never made the recall, so every XC400 I saw here still had the dodgy crown on.
