Lots of fiddling and a puncture. Luckily front. How the hell do you get the back off for a roadside repair? Took a long time to get rid of all the rattles and rubs.

Pretty much done. 22t rear fitted. Much better. Needs some puncture proof tyres. Any ideas?

The white paint on the rear mudguard, was that law during the WW2 blackouts, or just the done thing?

Looking at the French forums, it was regulation from 1939 to 1948 in France which makes it
a very quick identifier to get a bikes age.

Now you've said something which I'm mulling over with my build.

I'm coming to the conclusion a hammer was part of the repair kit back then.
