SBDU Raleigh brought up to date

bedraggled

Senior Retro Guru
My latest build.
It's a 1986 SBDU Raleigh with 2014 components and it replaces an SBDU Team Pro that I hardly rode because I missed Ergo levers.
I thought about modernising the Team Pro but there were no braze ons and the brakes were nutted so it seemed simpler to find a different frame.
What attracted me was the colour scheme, the paint is red on yellow, in the pictures comes across as orange even though it isn't.

Re: SBDU Raleigh

Finally took it out for a test ride today, ended up doing 30 miles.
Everything was spot on, really pleased.
Stopped on Werneth Low to take a picture, looking at the gearing you can see that Werneth Low isn't low.

That's a beauty,really like that a lot

Frame looks fantastic, how old is it? Is it original paint?

Cheers,Mick

Re: SBDU Raleigh

Whoop! Whoop! The red Raleigh for me!

May I ask how long is that stem ? The longest looking stem I've ever seen.

Really nice build
Thanks.

Ian Raleigh, sorry I wasn't ignoring you.
From memory I think it was 140mm, could explain why I was never able to reach the bars comfortably.
