Or at least it will be when I get my frame back! lol

Hi Folks, I was hoping to spend the day building up my new bike which I have been collecting parts for over the last 3 - 4 months. The missing frame, currently at Argos Cycles having some finishing touches done, is a 1990 Raleigh Dyna Tech with Reynolds 2060 tubing and will come back to me with its new Campagnolo C Record headset fitted. I am hoping next week as I can't wait to ride it.

I thought I'd kick the thread off with a few shots of the bits I have in my possession, I am still waiting for a brake cable set (from Italy) and some 700 x 23 Michelin Hi Lite Super Comp HD (from the US of States), so the spec is as follows -

  • Frame - Raleigh Dyna Tech 600 (2060 tubing, 21.5", currently MIA)
    Headset - C Record
Bottom Bracket - Chorus 111mm cartridge bearing
    Crankset - Gen 2 C Record 170mm 52/39
FD - C Record braze on
    RD - Gen 2 C Record
Shifters - C Record 7 speed Syncro II
Seat post - Campagnolo ID unknown
    Saddle - Turbo (not pictured)
Handlebars - 3TTT Paris Roubaix (not true to the build but I like internal cable routing
Handlebar tape - Benotto (red and blue), Cateye shiny (white)
    Stem - ITM 120mm
Brake callipers - C Record Delta
Brake levers - C Record Powergrade
Wheelset - Wolber TX profile rims 36H, C Record hubs, DT spokes, skewers unknown
Tyres - Pictured with Wolber 700 x 19 clinchers, will be replaced by Michelin Hi Lite Super Comp HD 700 x 23 (en route)
Freewheel - 7 speed Regina America 92 13-23 (plus Regina America 92 15-28 not pictured)
    Chain - Regina Super Racing
Pedals - Look PP76 Carbon (not correct for team bike but fits with my other bike)
    Bottle cages - Mansfield Alloy
Bottles - Tour de France Coca Cola (not shown)
Computer - Avocet 30 (not pictured)

That's it for now, a few piccies below, when the frame makes it through Argos Cycles' rigorous quality control I will post it up on here.

Cheers for looking, Martin

Re: (Yet another) Super U/Castorama Team Replica

Going to be a great build look forward to seeing the finished article. Seat post is Chorus, I have the same one, from arounf 1986

Re: (Yet another) Super U/Castorama Team Replica

Thanks, I have a friend who is a farrier and does all sorts of wonderful things with metal, he's going to polish the seat post for me...it's a bit dull for my liking!

Re: (Yet another) Super U/Castorama Team Replica

I think that's what's called being a tease... Really looking forward to seeing this.

Re: (Yet another) Super U/Castorama Team Replica

Does this mean I need to follow the same format with my build?!

Love the wheels. I wouldn't want to use the brakes in case the anodising wears!!

Re: (Yet another) Super U/Castorama Team Replica

oh boy - this has all the makings of something a bit special.

I wait with anticipation on this, spectacular collection of parts - you can't fail with this build.

Absolutely! No corner cutting, your frame deserves only the best!

Re: (Yet another) Super U/Castorama Team Replica

Today's efforts, and when I say effort I mean I have never come across a tighter combination of tyres and wheels! I certainly broke out in a sweat getting these chaps on the rims, I look forward to my first puncture out in the sticks, metal tyre levers an absolute must!
