stripped it down

performed a few mods, namely snapped off and filed down any cable mounts then sent it off to a guy to get some welding and trimming done. Had the brake mount holes welded up, bottle boss holes smoothed and welded up. Had mud guard mounts cut off the forks and dropouts as well as the rear mech hanger ground off and the hole in the dropout extended to allow adjustment of chain tension.

then sent it off for powder coating

You still need a front brake! Jesus...

And watch out for the S2C - I had two of them and they both went pop within a few months. Got a refund eventually. Maybe I was just unlucky.

ha ha, nah front brakes are over rated! it make sit more exciting......

it has started to make some weird clucks when braking......... but it hasnt fallen apart yet......

what went with yours?

No, you definitely need a front brake. Try an emergency stop without one, or stopping on a steep hill in the rain. You just won't stop in time.

The first one shifted badly, the second one shifted badly and then locked up completely whilst riding in traffic, causing an accident.

well this shifts like a dream, no probs at all, nice an positive.

well i dont ride this with too much anger, and if i fall off then well thats my own fault! so i shouldnt get in any trouble i hope ;)

It doesn't matter how well you ride or how slowly, that doesn't stop someone pulling out in front of you, or a child walking into the road. You need a front brake, so just get one.

If you have an accident and the police see you haven't got a front brake then you'll be in deep doo-doo.

Why do people do this and think it's clever?

It's not and it's illegal.

as far as i know, you have to have at least one - it's the law.

Yes, on the front and ONLY if you have fixed wheel. Freewheel = front AND rear.

Would you drive a car with only rear wheel (or no) brakes?
