...ever the optimist, my new RSP250. Local ebay buy at 80 quid, sold on the wrong STX mechs and even more wrong brand new 3x7 shifters/levers (It was originally 27 speed, but the guy had fitted NOS 7 speed DX wheels/Mavic). I've fitted new XT mechs and 7 spd XT thumbies so that I can run 9 speed wheels. With lighter wheels and skinny slicks it will be my summer road bike!

I was going to buy a carbon race bike, but for my health and fitness it would really have been a wasted grand!

exactly what Im going to do, get a basic rigid mountain bike and use that for road riding. I cant do stupid mileage so road bikes are too expensive for what they'd get used.

nice bike by the way, Im liking raleighs more and more lately
