I have owned this bike for 2 years, bought off a guy who hadn't ridden it for 15 years and prior to that it was apparently a demo/race bike for Broadribbs cycles.
I bought it to get back into mountain biking and at the time overlooked the large frame size in favour of owning such an awesome piece of mtb history that retailed for around the £3k mark if I remember correctly.
Now that I'm riding regularly I have decided that i need a bike that fits me better and suits the riding I'm doing a bit better.
Overall it's a great bike - spec below:
- large frame (bottom bracket to seat post clamp c20 inches), carbon fibre with I drive system.
- xtr groupset - front and rear mechs, chain set, shifters.
- hope disc brakes in good working order and just serviced
- RST hi 5 triple clamp forks still good for about 4 inches of travel
- Rock Shox SID dual air rear shock also still working pretty well!
- new rear cassette and chain
- mavic d521 wheels on hope hubs
- kore wide riser bars and short cnc stem
Whether you want this bike to use regularly like I do now or you want it to restore to its original state it is suitable for both.
Some points to note:
* the rear triangle had three strengthening weld spots added after the broadribbs team bent it (see pics). I was wary of this when I bought it but after plenty of downhill runs I do believe them when they said they were just precautionary...it's been great for me.
* some minor scuffs as you'd expect from a used bike
* the tape on the frame under the bottom bracket is just covering where a plastic plug fell out...no damage at all.
* dmr pedals not included others will be provided
* magic mary front tyre not included other schwalbe will be provided
