Very good condition all round with all original components apart from the tires. These were sold through Madison and were seen in the Freewheel catalogue. The 704 XT was the top of the range of the steel MTBs. Made from Tange Prestige tubing and comes with Tange Switchblade forks with their original top caps on the fork legs.
The XT groupset is in excellent condition, clean with only minor signs of any use. The brake pads haven't been bedded in yet and the rims braking surface is practically as new, see pics. It has the original Madison carbon handle bar and seat post plus the Madison gel saddle and grips. It has a Panaracer Dart Hardcore tyre upfront and a Smoke Lite on the rear both in excellent condition. Toe clips are Shimano, no straps.
Size is 19.5" C to C, top tube is 23" C to C and head tube is 4.25".
Couple things to note, nothing unusual on a 26 year old bike, there are some paint chips and scratches of which I'm sure most will come out with some elbow grease and polish. The saddle has a couple of nics in it, one pedal seal missing and the O ring has split on the front wheel QR. The left crank arm dust cap is missing but I may have one I can fit.
£280, collection preferred, I could be persuaded to post at an additional £25.
This bike really is too good to split although it would make a lot more in parts, I hope it stays together.
