Front / rear U-brakes - difference?

It will be the length of the bolt the goes through the tube
front is longer = to go through the forks
rear is shorter = to go through the tube that is the brake stay
most of them can be change around and taken apart (remember which goes where) so you can get a front and change it to a rear (if you have the right bolts)

if it's brake tabs - then the front arms will be longer and rhe backs shorter and must be bought the right way around or may not fit
