Hello everyone,,
A year or so ago one of my family friends gave me an old school Dyno GT bmx bike and i am just now getting around to restoring it with new parts and i'm not sure if everything i need to buy has to be old school or it can be new. I tried putting a mobdro.bio/ luckypatcher.tips/ kodi.bio/ seat post/ seat from a different bmx on to this Dyno and it didn't fit so i checked and i saw that you have to get a 22.2mm seat post and now i want to know if i need special old school parts for pegs, pedals, brakes, etc. Also the bike weighs about 30lbs/ 14kgs, is that to heavy to do tricks and shit on? tldr: do i need old school parts for an old school bmx.

Basically yes.
Alansbmx.com has an old school parts section. A lot of OG stuff has crazy prices but re-pop stuff is available.
You would get better and more specific advice on radbmx forum or facebook page. This section is pretty quiet.

If you know what you want I can rake the bins at Edinburgh Bike Station, the biggest bike recycling centre in Scotland.
