Hi, i have a couple of Ultegra 6500 brake calipers on my bikes and was curious to know if the latest R8000 are any better- in stiffness and braking power. Are the 6500 brifters compatible with the latest calipers?
Don`t care about weight and i think the finish is way better on the old ones, but i am a heavy rider and can appreciate a set of quality brakes.
The 6500 calipers work ok, i have nothing against them- if anything, they might be slightly better than the dura-ace version, which kinda flex on my setup, also the pads play a role in the actual braking performance.
Just looking for a bit of conventional wisdom, road bike components are fairly new to me.
