Morning all,
I am looking for some info on the above frame, according to the seller it’s a very rare triathlon frame that has different geometry to the others so I can ride this allthough it’s just a size 52 and I am 1.80m or 5.11” with 84 cm inseam with a 12-13cm stem.
Do you think that this is correct?
What else can you tell me about the frame?
Thanks in advance john

If the photo's are of the frame in question & it"s 52 cm it has an awful long head tube for a that size "normal" frame from the #4 photo the down tube appears to be a different to normal angle of frames Have no Idea if it would be better/worse than a "std" frame I guess it would be a try/see

Hi Al,
That’s what confused me as well that’s why I am asking.
He is asking €150 for the frame, do you recon that’s fair?
John

Is it a 650 wheeled bike?
There was a trend for that in triathlon a few years ago.

Also, i'd be more interested in top tube length than "size" to determine if its rideable or not.
If its a typical 52cm frame top tube (52-55cm maybe) it'll be too small. If it's more like 57-58 it *might* be designed to be run with a massive drop and tri bars, hence the small effective size (seat tube length).

Hope that makes sense.....

Just got a message from the owner, he says that
Top tube length is 50cm, and that it was designed to be used with a 20cm stem and a 650 wheel up front.
He is my height and he used it wit 700 wheels front and back with a 13cm stem.
So I guess Matt is wright. Still don’t know if this will fit me
Thanks all for the answers
John

It'd take that with a HUGE pinch of salt, if its designed around 650, a 700 won't fit in the fork.
Changing the forks to fit a 700 will jack up the front end and make it handle like a pig on tranquilisers.

The only reference i can find to a small front wheel version (i've been digging a little) was a special version that took a 24" front wheel (not a 650, which was the trend). If it's one of those (Georgena Terry special) and he'd fitted a 700c fork to that it'd look like a chopper bike.

It's too small.

Thanks again for the info Matt,
I asked the owner to send me some photos with wheels and everything.
I will post as soon as I get them.
I also think it’s too small
John

For the price being asked I'd pass & get a convensional size/angle frame if it's a known make you at least know bits will fit & it won't handle possibly as that one like a bag of bread pudding My advice let some one else take the risk
