Bike pumps

Are bike pumps like wagon wheels?, not as big as they used to be? All the pumps I've seen online describe as large are 15 inch. The pegs on my Claud Butler are 17 inches apart. Anyone know of a source of extra large pumps?

I had this same problem and found that Lapize aluminium pumps were the only ones that were long enough, my pegs are just under 18 of your inches, photo of mine...
