Best suited frame for a fixie

Hi Guys

What is the best suited frame to build a fixie on?
Looking to begin the build asap and I'm currently on the look out for the frame

Thanks in advance

Gareth

Obviously a track frame with a fork drilling for a brake is perfect, otherwise I'd say something with long horizontal dropouts and narrow (120 or 126mm) rear spacing.

Isn't a fixie different though.Brightly coloured and becoming less fashionable each week now.A girl once said ooh you rode all that way on a fixie.I just smiled.

I'd echo that.......whatever you do avoid a frame with vertical dropouts as you won't be able to tension the chain

You cannot use a chain tensioner with a fixie as the chain is used both for accelerating and braking. A tensioner works on the slack side of the chain run; with a fixie there is no slack side.
