First timer to retrobike rebuild (previously cars and motorbikes). Do I find out what this is and painstakingly restore it? If so how do I find out what it is? Or just paint it how I like and not worry about logos? Cheers for your time and help.

All Campag dropouts
Brazed on cable eyes and brazed on cable route under bottom bracket
32 head
28 seat and down tube
25 top tube
40mm bottom bracket tube

Italian thread
All campag bearings.

The 'club' cutout in the lugs and the Italian bottom bracket, plus Columbus tubes, all suggest Colnago.

However, Colnago's also usually had a similar cutout or pantographing on the bottom bracket.

Any sign of a serial number anywhere? Sometimes on one of the rear drop outs...

To be honest I was hoping someone was going to say the 'C' word but know it is a minefield due to different frame builders they used and the lack of reliable coding. There are no numbers on the frame anywhere. Many thanks for your reply and your link. Do I dare put a colnago transfer on it if I confirm it is one? All the kit that came with it was 70's campagnolo.

As an extra point, the finishing of the seat stays at the seat tube cluster is also typical Colnago (although not unique to them).

Maybe (as a wild guess) this is a Colnago Sport - I think Colnago made these as a more affordable mass market model in ther 1970s.

As for decals and stuff, I can't see why you couldn't put some Colnago stickers on it as long as you're not planning to sell the frame.

Does the frame have 3 brazed on cable guides on the top tube? Not sure if many Colnago's had 3, they usually had only 2.
