merckx frame ID help needed please!

I've just got hold of a merckx frame, but unfortunately it's been repainted completely by a previous owner, and there are no model or tubing stickers, so I'm hoping someone might be able to help me out with identifying the details!

what I know so far is the following:

- BB is italian
- rear spacing 126mm
- engraving on fork crown, rear brake bridge, BB and top of seat stays is all the newer 'curly' letter style
- not sure on seatpost diameter yet (it's still stuck in the frame)
- BB has "8X" stamped on one side and "8530" on the other. There's another mark above the "8X", possibly and "M" or "H"
- both rear dropouts and the driveside chainstay are chromed.
- fork doesn't appear to be chromed
-rear brake cable is internal, both entry and exit holes are onthe top of the TT

I'll try and post some pics later.

The frame seems pretty sound, except for the paint. it needs a respray so I might try sanding down through the layers to see if I can find any original colour.

I Think the 8X refers to the frame having a 58cm seat tube and made from Columbus SLX tubing.

thanks latman! I already found that page, but my serial number doesn't quite fit the same arrangement. I have a drive side letter (either M or H I think) above "8X", and "8530" on the non drive side.

I think it's probably a 58cm corsa extra though
