Does anyone know anything about GENETIC road bikes/frames?

Hello to all

I've come across an old late '80's road bike. It was a fairly lary bright Orange colour, and no decals at all - however, I can just about make out the name "GENETIC" which was once on the down-tube, but now long gone.

The frame itself has a race number braze-on, and is featherweight light - 753 sort of light, so it's clearly a road frame of some quality and some intended race pedigree.... but that's all I've got really.

Some internet digging led me to:

https://www.geneticbikes.com/contact/

I've also emailed: davef@ison-distribution.com - twice, but he won't reply :-(

Any ideas?

I'm pretty sure there's no connection at all between the Genetic Bikes brand which sells components and your frame. Have you got some pictures you can upload or link to?

Mark.

I honestly didn't think that there was either Mark - but asked anyway...

Here's a link to the gallery:

The features that have got me stumped are:

* The very low weight!
* Race number boss, but no front mech braze-on
* Vertical dropouts at the rear
* Sort of half-dropouts on the forks, or at least appear to be shorter than normal

Nothing springs to mind that seems to have this combination of features. The bottom bracket shell appears to read "10-8¬" - the last character is hard to make out, but it doesn't seem to quite be a number. If it is a number, it's probably a "7"
