Signature builds

Ok, I've noticed that quite a few people have signature builds on here, perhaps always using a particular saddle or pedal (quite understandable) or always having a certain stem which is a bit more idiosyncratic, for example Wu with his zero rise Ringle and stack of casino chip spacers.

Is there anything that you always, always do so much so that, without knowing, it would be clear that it was your bike?

wow thats a toughie. i do try to match things, usually bar, stem and seatpost, but i always try and have a theme to the bike whether it be matched groupset or a colour.

this is what i have done on my bikes:-

92 explosif, full m900 xtr (except chain cassette and headset but don't want those bits)
93 clockwork, full deore dx
93 aluminium O, purple is the theme and onza(being built next week)
lime crosswork, green is the theme!
st4, as much hope as possible
07 clockwork, race face dues bar, stem, post, chainset
condor, record is the theme
cougar, classic style build meaning only campag and an old school look


the other stuff i try to build matching groupsets if i can or just put the best of the rest of bits i have left to build something rideable

so i suppose my theme is just trying to match stuff in some way

mine are normally all dirty!!
