M900 Chainrings

Flossie

Dirt Disciple
I need to replace the two inner rings on my XTR M900 chain set

Will any reasonable Shimano fit or do I need 'quirkey' rings?

Thanks in advance,

Floss

it's a bit hard finding the real original xtr rings for m900 now, i put TA rings on mine and middleburn on another.

110 bcd for the middle and top and 74bcd for the inner ring, sizes are a preference, i run 26/36/46

hope that helps :D

Middleburn do now do a 64/104mm spider for the cranks now.

my only issue was that the shoulders and the same odd shimmano diameters so that inner rings can not fit the outer without some filing. (or is it the other way round!)

Thanks gents,
I thought it was yet another dumb question, but one I didn't expect my local bike shop to know!
Cheers

well if it uses the same splined fixing as the 900's then yes. Sorry dont know the 739 cranks.

Edit: done a google are these yours?

then at a guess the spline should be the same.

900s have a normal, 5-bolt spider/ chainrings, not a splined interface.

New "compact" roadie cranks are now using the same 110mm bolt spacing as the old (pre-micro-drive) "ATB" pattern. Not sure if the roadie rings come in any useful sizes, though.

Any normal ring that fit the bolt diameter will work.
I usually use 24/36/48 tooth ;)

They call it ATB fit.

Middleburn slickshift (or slickshift hardcoat) to keep the pinned style shifting
Come individually or as a set

Thats the crank ive got, nicest looking outside the xtr ones
The adapter looks like it would fit, same amount of slots etc
One of the other members is selling me the 739 5 arm adapter in the standard 110/74 pattern, but its good to know there are other options still in production :D
