I'd like to remove the disc tabs on a Z2, the lowers are a steel alloy IIRC? I assume the tabs can easily enough be cut off and sanded smooth? Or is it a curse-inducing operation in practice?

Does anyone know why some/most Z2s came Canti only, whilst others included the disc tab?

I think the difference may have been whether they were OEM or not?

I've got some tab-less ones, that I'd happily trade, but I don't know if they're the same model as yours?

I'm looking to purchase a pair actually, '96 I think (red), but also have option for '97 blue

hmmm...

mine are 199summat black air forks... they're bombers, but heck knows what model! 80mm travel. PM me if you want some pics.

Re:

I think I have some bombers with a broken disc tab if your interested seems a shame to butcher a good set. Not sure what model but can check on the weekend.

Arnt z2 short travel aswell 80mm I think.

Re:

Lowers aren't steel. Most likely magnesium.

Travel is 65-80mm depending on year. The internals are cross compatable.

I would guess a nice coarse file would make short work of the tabs. Finish off with a fine file and tape off the legs to keep errent strokes from scratching.
