1996 Proflex 755

Silverlining

Retro Newbie
Recently bought my near complete Proflex 755 as a fun re-build project. Stripped the 'bike' down to the last washer & examined & cleaned each component. This bike was bought new by the previous owner who raced it competitively so I expected some wear & found some in the swing arm 'bearings'. This bike pre-dates bearings so the steel swing arm bushes wear against what seem to be press fit steel bushes in the frame shell. At the very least, the bike needs the push fit frame shell bushes replaced soon as. Are these available anywhere as spares or will I need to have them made up n a machine shop? Grateful for any help I can get.

Re:

Your 755 if a '95 (the last digit is the model year).

I'm not familiar with the pivot system on yours, but my 753 uses plastic bushings as the wear/replaceable part in the suspension pivots.

You might have a look at http://www.idriders.com/proflex/
