I was cleaning my Litespeed Tellico after a ride, when I found this...

:(

It appears as though I now have a VERY expensive 6/4 ti paperweight.

ouch!
mucho sympathy from me. just out of interest....is your riding style typically moderate or were you 'giving it some'?

marc.

I bought it new in '97, and ride it like I stole it. It's served me well, but I expected (ie. hoped) it would last my lifetime.

Now I'm just figuring out what to do with it. I can't just throw it away, and the last thing I need is another frame on the wall.

I could take her out for gentle strolls in the park on Sunday afternoons...

No wrecks recently. I sent pics to Litespeed, and after deliberation they decided the bike had lived it's useful lifespan and was not covered under their lifetime warranty nor repairable.

They did offer me a deal on a new frame.

It was my ride of choice for most of 14 years so I guess I can't complain too much. I'm just glad I found it before a catastrophic failure at an inopportune moment.

How the hell do they decide whats a 'usefull life span'?? Very vague that :?
