I posted a message in the road cycling forum about a bunch of magazines I have been asked to value from the 1948-1951 but haven't had any response yet

reading through a couple of these magazines from 1948 last night I was struck by how similar the articles and issues where to those we see today. Many of the adverts emphasises the lightness of components, there is discussion on nutrition (baked beans vs. milk), frame angles, and an article on wheel sizes which shows remarkable similarities to the 26/29 debates going on today, I've scanned the article in and posted it in the scanning forum here:

I was also surprised to see a picture of a recumbent cycle which looks remarkably similar to modern ones. Very entertaining, at this rate I'll end up keeping them myself.

Is the map mounted on cloth?

I have a few cloth maps from that era - mainly sections of scotland.

I generally pay £4-6 for a tatty one and up to £12 for a very good condition one, never seen a mint one as such.

I would expect a specialty one go to go for slightly more... if you find the right buyer.
