Bar end plugs work, if you want flat or shiny ones use roadie plugs. Steerer is replacable but the bolts on those forks often seize and make it impossible to do so without wrecking the bolts.
Also you will need the bonty brake bosses as they are not standard ones available in any shop, ask B3 on here for some - he made some perfect ones for my forks.
