There's the lost 'click' off the end, but of course the cable pull is wrong.

Oh....yes....pulling the bearing off the track and finally into the spring hole.....click! 8th!

I love the fact that this still get put about that shimano designed an 8th "hidden" click. First when these came out 7 speed was the latest most modern thing and second if they wanted 8....surely they would have drilled 8 holes...not 7.

Yes, it works by overdriving the shifter off the dimples and onto the plate, but the you can use a screwdriver as a chisel , don't make it right or do it any good.....hence old flappy xt shifters, with done in springs!

Only by virtue of having a thin steel fixing rather than a huge alluminium one. The shifters are actually identical under the surface.
