Trying to ID this bike that I picked up today and suspect it might be a Raleigh Peak.
Deore LX front Mech, Deore LX Shifters, Biopace Chainrings, Tourney rear mech (suspect this is not the orginal)
Does anyone have any idea what year it might be?
Just dragged this out the local scavenging yard. I plan to turn it into a fixie after junking all the rubbish and repainting, but before I do I wanted to make sure it wasn't anything decent, or even get an idea if it is just a P.O.C.
I've done a search for British Eagle and it seems that...
Brilliant, I had one of those up until last December, I was still racing on it too! I bought it from new in 95, Shed a small tear when I sold it.
Mind you it was called "The Widowmaker" - everybody who rode it crashed it!
I'm new to the whole Retrobike scene and was wondering where one goes to get decent old parts, am I going to end up trawling ebay or are there any specialist suppliers of old or even retro reproduction parts.
I don't want to spend a fortune but would like to keep within the theme of the old...
Anybody got any information about them. I'll post pics in a while but I just dragged what appears to a be an early 80's frame out of the local recycling yard. Can't find much on interweb other than they now make BSO's sold by Asda and the like.
