    96(?) bomber z3s seized up

Ok I’ll play with the oil levels some more. I set the oil levels with the stanchion pulled up. Is that wrong. Should I be doing it with it fully down? The docs don’t explicitly say and it’s hard to tell from the pics I’ve been using the z3 light specs because the travel is the same (65mm) I...

    96(?) bomber z3s seized up

hehe yeah i noticed the lack of compression when it was full up. those levels were mostly to check for leaking when i was initially playing with it and left it screwed back together and lying on its side overnight I've got the levels down a bit but still experimenting. I think 35-40 from the...

    96(?) bomber z3s seized up

Heh yep turns out i had to remove them completely from the crown - the ring clip was keeping them in. Once in locked I could finger unscrew. So much shredded foam in there, like the padding on crutches argh I’m struggling getting the stanchions off now according to the manual there should be...

    96(?) bomber z3s seized up

thanks for the info They were stuck to the dust covers Once I pried those up they moved freely a little too freely. There’s almost no resistance and they drop straight down under their own weight. Guess I’ll bin them

    96(?) bomber z3s seized up

Hi all I got an old 80s (I think) bike recently with a set of locked up bomber z3s on it. The date stamp on the inside of the fork is 96 ive read online (and this forum seems to have the most knowledge about these forks) that it was kind of common for these to lock up after sitting unused Is...
