    Rhetorical Single Speed Question

For fun only. I've recently replaced the front wheel on one of my 26er SS' with a 29er fork and wheel making it in affect a 69er, narf narf. It's well known that 29ers need lower gearing so I was expecting to fit a bigger cog at the rear to accommodate the change, but no, the climbs are no more...

    '97 Marin Rift Zone

Collected from Reluctant about 4 years ago and left with Wadsey to build up with parts supplied with me. Then came along Covid, Brexit, Spanish bureaucracy and some health issues so I was really looking forward to giving it it's first ride now that I could visit the UK again. Sorry for...

Can anyone identify / date this Cannondale?

There's no identification numbers under the BB shell and no overspray inside the tubes so I believe it has the original paint.

    Todays Daftest Question.

Can I use a cable operated disk brake (thinking a BB5 or BB7) with a V brake lever as my inner nerd wants matching levers. Thanks in advance for any help.

    Fitting an extra bottle cage

There's lots of "How to info" on line I just need to know what size Riv nuts to order. Any one done it? They will be fitted into a steel frame if that is relevant. Thanks in advance every one.

    M2 Singlespeed

I've posted this before as a 1 X 10 but since I built the Team Marin it hasn't seen much use so as I thought I needed a singlespeed in my life again and of course it's became my go to bike. The build specs are: 1999 Specialized M2 Stumpjumper. Exotic carbon fork. Headset Race Face Thermo SP...

Wanted 580 to 620 flat 25·4 flat alu bars from EU sellers only please

Posted to mainland Spain, sorry I've just paid 67% tax and import duty on an item from the UK. Back to the bars: No cracks, crimps or bends but small marks or scratches are fine as I will probably strip and polish the bar. Let me know what you have.

White Konas, where did they all go?

Well I liked 'em anyway. I'd love to see what happened to them.

    2009 Orange Five

I bought this a couple of years ago from Madmax and promised him some build pictures but my camera lost all of its data. I built the frame up quickly and it has become my favourite ride. It's undergone several changes since the pictures were taken with a few more parts in the post. Here's the...

    Wanted Marin Rockstar Forks

As above, 1&1/8th" ahead steerer minimum 190mm long. Not shure what the the A to C would need to be but currently happy with 435mm but replacement could be less. Scratches and rubs with poor decals are fine as long as the fork is sound. Expecting to pay the postage to mainland Spain. W.H.Y?

Anyone like old railways? (Pic heavy)

I usually ride this trail in the winter to avoid the cold (low altitude),but thought I'd give it a go as I hadn't been here since pre Covid and was keen to finally set up the newly built Team Marin. Out of town and no more traffic noise. The stations had been converted to bars/cafes but...

Oxon / Wilts local knowledge needed please.

A while ago there was talk of a cycle way using the route of an abandoned canal between the Thames at Abingdon and the Kennet & Avon canal near Devises or Trowbridge. Did it get finished, has anyone ridden it or do you have any info you could pass on? Many Thanks in advance.

    Recent Rides Pics

Sorry for the 'phone pictures, I've been fettling the Team Marin by swapping peddles, tyres, stems and bars with short test rides. It's about right now with only the 600mm bars being too narrow for me in soft sand. I hadn't ridden this trail since before Covid and was surprised to see...

    Orange Sub 3

Bought this on the forum about 4 years ago, the seller delivered it to Wadsey who fitted parts supplied by me. Since then it's undergone several rebuilds by me with the latest being just about right. I always thought it was a 2005 frame but an ex Orange employee on Pinkbike thinks it's from...

    Team Marin, second ride.

The first cloudy day for weeks /months with a cold breeze on the tops. Loving the bike.

Team Marin, shakedown rides. (pic heavy).

I've ridden this dry water coarse several times over the years and always ignored what I thought was a cave entrance when I noticed that someone had cleared the scrub in front of it. It turned out to be a natural tunnel between two ramblers. One of the things I like most about MTBing...
