Bontrager race ( not race lite)

I'm 6'1 and ride a large privateer with a setback post and 120mm stem, and 2 large race's with 130-150mm stems. XL will work for 6" but more backpacker style.

Early 1990's Bontrager Dirt Drop - Syncros - Salsa - Chris King - GoreTex

Its a 600 shifter, and Ive only got 2 rings up front :p. Someday I may fork up the big bucks for wtb or dkg xtr mounts, but they are pretty insanely rare these days, not to mention crazy expensive. I'm not really a granny type of guy either, and this 2 speed front goes well with this road/cx...

    Yo

Nah, that frame is toast as far as aesthetics go. Full top tube replacement. Or maybe lucky with a very experienced frame builder who can roll and hammer most of it out. Otherwise that area will always look off if you fill and repaint or try and pull it.

Early 1990's Bontrager Dirt Drop - Syncros - Salsa - Chris King - GoreTex

shipping from Canada aint cheap ;P I'm actually working on the bike right now. Downgrading it a bit... but tastfully, with raw aluminum bits to compliment the xtr and tech lite parts in a way that goes well with the matte green and black. The race lite wheelset ive decided to put on a 98'...

I've never been into road bikes, and have never had drop bars before..But wow have I been surprised by this bike. The handling/ride is so comfortable and precise and FAST!

Early 1990's Bontrager Dirt Drop - Syncros - Salsa - Chris King - GoreTex

Keeping this one stealth  I've been thinking of painting logos on the frame in the color/style of ammo boxes, and black on black decals for the syncros/salsa bits.

Early 1990's Bontrager Dirt Drop - Syncros - Salsa - Chris King - GoreTex

This is my Dirt Drop project. There is just something about the old Salsa Ala carte Jelly bean dirt drop builds that I find so cool and fun. I wanted to emulate that here with a different style but similar build. I think the military green really gets thrown off by flashy parts with decals...

Pair of tyres for $500 - is this a new record?

I'm sure there are warehouses of white Onza porcupines just waiting to be found. Many high end parts where made in the 100's, some not even in the dozens.. tires where made in the 1000's of course but seeing how they are a high wear item.. many sought after rare tires are not coming around more...
