Long bolt to go from the back of the small chain ring into the RH crank arm. Where to get this?

Hi All I am not sure if this is the correct part of the forum but I hope so. I am servicing a bike with 2010 Campy Athena Polished Ally Groupo and it turns out that the special long chain-ring bolt (the other 4 are "standard") which goes in from the inside face of the small chain-ring is...

    Dawes Galaxy 1977?

Hi all I've got hold of a 70s Dawes Galaxy but not sure which year. Serial ends in a 7 which may be 1977? It has cotter pin crank, post-75 headbadge. The lugs are a little fancy. Centrepull brakes and no brazed on RD hanger. Opinions please. Thank you Matty

My 1978 Super Mondia is reborn!

I purchased a mostly-complete but very ugly 1978 Super Mondia about 5 years ago and have ridden a few hundred miles on her always with a view to one day doing as best a restoration as I could given limited funds. I stripped and cleaned everything and had the frame dipped last year then...

    Tange 9H forks 1" threaded

Can anyone tell me the quality of the Tange 9H forks? I've just stripped my 1978 Super Mondia down for a refinish and the forks (which I knew were not original) are the above. The forks have a 190mm steering tube and weigh just a little under 900g The dropouts are stamped "TANGE TRA" or it...

Mavic MA40 and ALESA similar rim

Dear All I have an old Raleigh with mismatched rims but they look similar. The Rear is a Mavic MA40 The Front is a similar looking "hard anodised" rim but is ALESA with pink writing on but no model number. It looks more "blue" than the grey Mavic. Could anyone enlighten me as to the model...

    Unknown 80s (?) Raleigh

Hello all. I've got hold of this today and I'm just wondering what the frame is. Cannot properly see the serial number through the paint but it's "WR 600" or similar. Nottingham November 1986 perhaps? I think the paint is original but it may not be at all... are the "501" decals original...

All Change for the Record Ace Moderne...

So after many hours of trying to remove the saddle post from my newly acquired 1990 Raleigh Record Ace Moderne I had to admit defeat. The frame was a bit rough anyway so I decided to strip the entire Sante Groupset from the frame and find another frame to build something nice. Having sourced a...

    Addition to my retro collection

I was very pleased to get this last week from 2 streets away for 79 quid :) Record Ace Moderne with 653 frameset, Mavic MA40 and full Sante groupset. 54.5cm CT Seat tube. I was 18 when this bike was on the market for £510 and there was no way I or any of my friends could own such a high end...

Which 1973 Worksop-built Carlton might this be?

I've recently acquired this single speed / fixie conversion and all the seller could tell me was that it was a "70s Raleigh" The serial number is Worksop September 1973 so I'm assuming it's a Carlton... Perhaps the lugs will give someone a clue? I think the seller said 531 as well but that...

    My Motley Crew

Here are my bikes. All are ridden on a regular basis. Nothing special or rare, but I like them and they were all cheaply purchased/built: Cheers Matty :)
