1980´s Olmo Gentleman - La Biciclissima

To keep the original in good shape, in case of one day I decide to sell the bike. And the material is not very "rain friendly", it soaks a lot, I do not like the feeling. Many thanks for your comment. I really like this bike, it is an awsome ride. And not just on weekends, it is my daily ride...

1980´s Olmo Gentleman - La Biciclissima

I have contacted Olmo, they replied saying that the bike is almost certainly from 1979 or 1980. Good enough for me. Meanwhile I fitted a pair of SKS mudguards and a Carradice handlebar bag, to make my commuting more confortable in the winter.

1980´s Olmo Gentleman - La Biciclissima

Many thanks for the tip! Reading the info on the 3 catalogs scans found on http://bulgier.net/pics/bike/Catalogs/ I do believe that the bike is almost for sure pre-1984. It also seems that on certain models the customer could request the cable holders on or under bottom bracket shell. Your Olmo...

1980´s Olmo Gentleman - La Biciclissima

Well, fitted 2 Continental Giro tubular tyres, a Selle Italia Turbo, new brake pads and covered the original bartape with another one. I´ve spent a few time polishing minor scratches on the frame but is almos perfect now. I have also replaced the Columbus sticker, the old one was a mess.

1980´s Olmo Gentleman - La Biciclissima

I was missing a very cool Bottecchia I owned a few months ago, so I began chasing a oportunitty to get my hands on another Italian classic road bike. A completely stock Olmo Gentleman in Columbus Zeta tubing suddenly crossed my path, and I now ride this beauty every day in my commute. It is in...

    Giant TCR Team Once

Re: Re: I tend to change my bikes mods every now and then, this latest one aimed mainly at confort. Since this is my daily ride in short distances, I wanted to try a diferent handling position. I am quite satisfied with it, but yes, I do agree with you, the bike had a really nice set up in its...

    Giant TCR Team Once

Made some mods to my Giant. I decided to try a riser handlebar, and I really liked the result. Great improvement on confort, great fun to ride. Deore levers and shifters are not as precise as the road 105 brifters, but they do the job. I have also changed the saddle, really crazy about these...

    Giant TCR Team Once

Yes, and LOOKs great, to :) Now I must think of ways to trim about 170 grams in order to go bellow the 8 Kg mark, without spending to much money. A carbon crankset would resolve, but most of them are a bit expensive.

    Giant TCR Team Once

Just upgraded the fork. Look HSC2 full carbon, weighs 350 grams. Better handling, shock absorbing and looks. Really awsome. Bike is with 8,160 Kg.
