on stripping this down i noticed another small paint blemish between seat and top tube. probably a couple of mm but don't want any buyer to be disappointed if they don't come to view first.
I'll throw in a campag square taper bottom bracket to sweeten the deal.

It has a campag headset not shimano, I do have a shimano one that would fit though if that's what you wanted, like I said I didn't really understand your post
It was introduced before 88, here's a link to a 1987 catalogue that offers a 653 frame. Where did you get the info about the Special Products logo dating, I'm struggling to find anything.
