For Sale Airborne Lucky Strike Med Frame

Hi all, I’m selling my Airborne due to lack of use and to free up some space/funds. Good condition. Medium: 18” c/t + 22.5” top tube c/c. V-brake only. Absolutely no serial number anywhere on it. Titanium loveliness. Just after getting back what I paid - £400 + postage. Also on eBay at slightly...

    1988/89 Carrera GT Epic

Got the wheels built and bike is now completely built up apart from new brake blocks which should be here Friday.. So chuffed with this, only did a quick spin up the road (using my work boots to slow down!) so far, but riding position is nice and this is light and seems fast. Clearance between...

Hubs and rims polished up pretty nice and spokes arrived today - wish me luck.. :)

    1988/89 Carrera GT Epic

Managed to spend a couple of hours on this today. Just methodically working through the components cleaning and reassembling on to the frame. Tried on some Azonic bars that I have to give the flat bar conversion a try, it seems comfortable like this but I’m not 100% decided yet. Once the spokes...

    1988/89 Carrera GT Epic

Using electrolysis to clean up the original 7 speed cassette, this had very little wear so I wanted to reuse it. Plus I’ve never tried the electrolysis before so this was a good excuse to give it a whirl. I’ve decided to rebuild the original wheels, just waiting for replacement spokes to arrive...

    Disrespected Claud Butler(!) Welding content.

Sorry Peachy, edited the wrong spelling out now.. Cheers for the pointers on decals - that could be a good nod to its origins once it’s done. ;)

    1992 Saracen Tufftrax

Got this finished about a week ago but forgot to update the post. Turned out well really, it rides nicely even with the low end components fitted. Pretty looking bike too.

    Disrespected Claud Butler(!) Welding content.

One of our neighbours was throwing away a couple of old bikes. One of which I recognised as a mid nineties Claud. Long story short, I’ve always fancied seeing if I could make myself a cruiser type bike, and I have access to a mig welder.. I’ve cut the various tubes and welded it together...

    1988/89 Carrera GT Epic

Managed to give this a good old clean and polish. It’s come up pretty good as some predicted it would. Next decision is wheels; the original spikes are hella rusty. The hubs should be good after a service and the rims are very good (Araya’s). Do I just rob the spokes off these cyclocross wheels...

    1988/89 Carrera GT Epic

Yep, not going to risk messing it up - it’s only the drive side that’s stuck. Not the end of the world if it stays stuck, I can still clean and re-grease it from the non-drive side opening.

Thanks for the advice - I’ll give that a try. ;)

    1988/89 Carrera GT Epic

Thanks for all the positive comments, I managed to spend an hour or so stripping the bike down today. Not too much drama really, especially considering all the rust. Only thing I couldn’t budge is the drive side bottom bracket bearing cup. That can stay put for now. Gave the frame a quick clean...

    1988/89 Carrera GT Epic

Just wanted to post up a pic of this in the condition I bought it in today. I don’t normally do road bikes but this one caught my eye with its splatter paint and 300ex groupset (which is still complete). It looks to have not been used much, but.. it also looks to have been left outside for a...

    1992 Saracen Tufftrax

Had a couple of hours free yesterday evening so started cleaning this up and assembling it. I decided to use various bits and pieces which I had in my spares to get it up and together. Groupset will be Acera/Altus, wheels are some decent Exage 7 speed with tan wall Nimbus 1.50 road/gravel tyres...

Wow, that’s stunning, just wondered - is there any chance that you’d consider selling the 100mm forks separately? Thanks Marc
