Todays Race

Bummer about Lizzie and Reusser. Hope they both recover quickly, but really puts a spanner in the works. Also hope that woman spectator who had been ploughed into the ground, in one of the mens crashes, is ok. She was definitely knocked out and like a rag doll.

The riders are asking for a chicane of sorts before entering Arenberg forest on Sunday. I'm in 2 minds about that. On one hand if you can't stand the heat then stay out of the kitchen, on the other hand maybe it is a good idea, then let the forest sort them out.

Mad temps expected on saturday for the womens Paris-Roubaix. Less on sunday but still warm. I read a while back that there are ongoing talks about moving PR to the autumn, for the bad weather, as spring just seems to be warm and dry, these days.

After the big crash at Itzulia that took out Roglic, Vinegaard, Evenepoel, Kras, and Vine yesterday, and Landa crashing on today’s stage, there’s not many elite riders left uninjured.

What a start to the season!

Yes, it means chaos for their preparation for the season. But maybe from our point of view that's a good thing. Don't forget Van Aert also out. Pogacar will be watching his step I imagine, and as for Van Der Poel he's always out of harm's way off the front! Hope they all recover soon.
