Has anyone come across this as yet?
Is it a thing, I know bigger collectors try to run ppl down, is it a U.K. thing or is it across the board?

Disillusioned now with the whole scene.

Screw the "scene" dude, you do you & if that entails collecting/restoring/riding/just staring at your favourite bikes then sod what the next man thinks. What kind of thing have you experienced anyway? I've had nothing but good from the folks here & I don't socialise much but other people I've met about retro bikes have been cool folks...

I haven't noticed this. One of the things I love about this hobby is just how accessible it is, it appeals to people from right across the social spectrum, blue collar to white collar and beyond.

Of course some bikes and parts are way out of reach for many of us, me included, but we still love to see them, especially if they're being rescued and/or ridden. I often comment on stuff that is worth silly money and have never felt like my thoughts weren't welcome because I'm not in 'that class' of collector or whatever.

If anyone did act that way I probably wouldn't notice because honestly I'm here for the bikes first and foremost, with that said my experience with most people I've interacted with on here has been overwhelmingly positive.

You will get it in every community mate, however in all my time on RB I have never seen it and in all honestly, if someone behaved that way, I’m sure a few of us seasoned RBers would stamp it out very quickly…

This site is awesome and opens its arms to people from all levels of collection content and affordability…It’s what makes RB what it is! 🙏🏼

Can I say I didn’t suggest it was on this platform.

It’s amazing these ppl tell you oh it’s got this wrong, that wrong etc etc to run you down.
At the end of the day some of the bikes we have are 30+ yrs old we all know they ain’t perfect
But to go tyre kicking is a joke
