Hello

Retro Newbie
I'm new to this forum so I hope I’m posting this in the right place.
I’m returning to cycling after a 40 year break. Until last Sunday I hadn’t been on a bike since I was about 18. Throughout the late 70s I was a keen club cyclist putting in about 350 miles a week. Last Sunday I did my first 19 miles in a lonnnng time, and loved every minute.
So why this group?
Well, back in the 70s I rode and raced the same George Elrick my dad rode and raced in the 50s. And I’ve still got the Elrick. Rusty and needing a complete rebuild but lve still got it. It lost all the half decent components 40 years ago so I’m on the hunt for period parts.
I couldn’t afford Campagnolo stuff back then but I’m planning on building the bike I couldn’t afford back then, late 70s-80 with as much Campagnolo stuff as I can.
I’ll be needing lots of help and advice but I hope, as I relearn what I need to know to be able to put something back into the forum 🤞.

Lots of Campagnolo Nuovo Record or Super Record around so shouldn’t be an issued dependent on your budget?

Thank you for the welcome and words of encouragement.
I’ve taken delivery of Campagnolo Nuovo Records front and rear derailleurs and levers. I’m also waiting delivery of some SH 27” wheels and a Campagnolo NR chain set and seat pin.
I’ll be sourcing a Campagnolo BB and headset in a day or two, plus a brooks saddle.
Then it will be paint time.
In the mean time I’ve polished the cheap 40 year old quill peddles. The chromes pitted but they’ve come up ok.
