Verlicchi, originally a motorframe constructor, is an early innovator of mountainbike full suspension frames. The Italian company supplied frames to various brands like Iron Horse, Kona, Sintesi and Diamond Back. For S-bike they built the famous 'boom tube' hardtails.

In 1992 Dave Cullinan raced the Iron Horse FS Works to the Downhill world title in Bromont, Italy, making the FS Works the 1st full suspension bike to conquer a world title.
