Stripping old paint old Bianchi

Old School Hero
Hi there,

I got a nice 70's Bianchi that has been re-painted and slapped-on with modern decals... a shame.
I still can see the original celeste underneath the cheap paint job.
Is there any way i could get the original color back (without repainting it with original paint specs) ? Or at least sand the newer paint in places to reveal indications of the model (i'm thinking of the place where a columbus sticker would be etc) ?

Thanks for your tips !

Z.

1.) Steel wool with resolvant and easy on. At first a spot not in the view.
2.) Paintstripper, also easy on. Most of the time newer coating is easier to remove than the old original layer.
3.) Razorblade were you also remove spot on a glas window. Bit by bit.
Success....

Hi dutchie,

Thanks for these advices :)
The razorblade was the thing that worked best, but i'm in for a repaint...
On the good side, i discovered some unusal bianchi decals, so ill open a new topic to be helped to ID it.

Thanks again !
