Raleigh record sprint strange frame number

Hello

Saw this on eBay .

it looks to be clearly a 1985 ish Raleigh record sprint based on the the paint, decals, tubing and Shimano 105 RD. However the serial number doesn't follow the usual pattern so just wondering if anyone knows when this started

Ive offered £150 max for it but the chap is gonna see the auction through

Um. Well it's definitely not 1963. I suspect that the seller has misread the number. Maybe the 6 is in fact an 8. 1983 would be about right me thinks.

That's the limited edition one so it shouldn't be too hard to work out what year it actually is.

See if the seller will message you a photo of the frame number, that is permitted within their rules.

Raleigh frame numbers changed about 1986?

I think the seller has read the number wrong?
