Question about Quad TARA

Hi all

My wife has a 2006 Marin Attack Trail, with the Whyte designed TARA system on the back end.

The rear suspension unit is bolted traditionally at the front end, but at the rear end it is on a quick release that allows it to be moved in a vertical slot.

I know that one end of the slot gives it 4" of travel, and the other end gives it 6" of travel. However I can find the square-root of f*** all on the TARA system, specifically which end of the slot (top or bottom) gives you what travel.

Does anyone out there know???

TIA

Ade

Thinking about either 4 or 6, if you have the bike off the ground and you set it to one side does the wheel sit higher than lower than when set to the other side.
Lower I think would indicate more travel, as its further away.

Something here on Mtbr
https://forums.mtbr.com/marin/setting-r ... 11090.html

read that several times and think I got it - also there is a pic on there that I missed which shows someones bike set up at 6" and shock is set to the bottom of the slot so I guess we have a winner! Thanks

You've already sussed it, but yes.....

Bottom of the slot = maximum travel, slacker angles.

Top of the slot = minimum travel, steeper angles.

They're great bikes - my wife runs hers with coil suspension front and back.

Point it down the hill, sit back and grin from ear to ear until reaching bottom of hill.
