Finally, after many years I managed to get my hands on a pair, a bit late to the party but I hope that you fellas can help me make the most of these lovely forks.

They are going to need some work, they'll need a clean, there's some corrosion on the chrome struts, the crown is a bit tatty and I'm going to have to swap out the steerer tube for something a bit longer at some point as these forks came with a small frame with a tiny headtube.

The legs are 340mm from the crown to the dropouts, with the dropouts they measure 380mm, the steerer tube is approximately 145mm in total, with 115 showing from the top of the crown. I'm going to need a suitable frame for these at some point, suggestions welcome, will need to be 17-19'' (ideally 18'').

How easy is it to get new stickers? I have a NOS steerer tube ready to go but it's going to need trimming down and is currently unthreaded, will need to look at getting it trimmed and threaded at some point, something I know nothing about!

Anything you can tell me about these forks, or any useful or illuminating resources you can point me towards, plus any advice or tips you can give me would be very much appreciated.

No expert but I think they are quite early ones. Tin foil and water on the chrome legs.... Contact Danson69 about sorting the steerer...

Thank you, especially for the the recommendation 👍

Step one is complete, forks came apart fairly easily, a bit of WD40 helped to free one of the legs.

Oh, and it is a 1" crown, which limits the choice of frames a bit.

Yep, but that's OK with me ;)

The crown most resembles 1989 gen one with the flat facia, but the legs on the other hand look like 92 second gen, would that suggest they are cobbled together from different sets?

From what i remember of the crowns, the flat crown is the 1", the crown with the small bulge is 1-1/8" and the larger bulge is 1-1/4".
