Sorted Mavic 305 headset

Although technically a road headset it was used in MTB so asking here (as it’s going on an MTB). So looking for a nice Mavic 305… thanks in advance

it was indeed a road headset - although the paris dakar version was quite mtb oriented.

BUT

Beware the very tall stack height on it ... caught me out on a Cannondale built long long ago.

Why not the 315 (which is the MTB version).
Only difference being the top nut/clamp part being a it longer, oh and also available in Black.

Outer Stack is heigh, but steerer stack is variable on the MTB 38-44 iirc with Road being 38mm

305 needed specifically over 315 for a replica build.. will start a thread on here soon

This one any use? It’s in v good condition and complete (except for the black band to cover the pinch bolt). Only a couple of small scrapes to the top nut from removal/installation that should polish out. Bearings are complete and smooth. Logo clear and unmarked.
