Feeling nostalgic - Friday Night Summer Series

Old School Hero
So I'm curious, do we have any riders from the summer series on the retro forum, I read with some nostalgia that the series is headed into it's 20th season. I was one of the promoters and series organizer for a number of years.

Check out the last photo, circa 1993, my buddy Jez on his zebra something with early rock shocks (I told him they would never catch on..far too heavy) and drop bars (also would never catch on).

Also in back left is Cy Turner racing as a Junior.

Go support this series in it's 20th year, a great bunch of folks just organizing races for the love of it.

I raced most of the rounds in about 94 as a junior or youth and wasn't very good.
I had another go in about 2000, on a single speed to hide the fact that I still wasn't very good.

Might have another go this year if they let me, with my wife and our tandem as an excuse, because I'm still not very good! :(

It was a reasonable place to spot a bit of bike porn as I recall. As a 16-17 year old I was dead jealous of some bloke with a red Citroen AX GT, with an anodised red Pace, complete with red Z-Max tyres.
Funny how these happy memories stick in your head. :D

In '94 I promoted the event in Cople, near Bedford, in '95 I promoted my final event at Hinchingbrooke Country Park, Huntingdon, before moving here. If you race say hi to Neil Holman for me.
