Early v narrow mtb road rubber

In the 90s we thought it was very cool to put the narrowest rubber we could onto tiny mtb frames and hurtle around London and Brighton. The bikes looked mental, with 400mm seat posts and looong bar ends. Of course Keith b was re rolling road rims to 26 at that point so we had the narrow rims too. I even did some time trials on this set up.

Well, someone last week asked for some 26 road rubber so I had a look in the tyre stacks and yep, I have the original Specialized Turbo 1 inch 26 pair. Well over twenty five years’ old and still pliable and uncracked. If anyone buys these they will get a Karma Hutchinson 1 inch too - don’t know where the second one is. 20:00 gbp the pair plus postage. NOW SOLD

Also I’ll mention here a pair of Schwalbe Durango 1.10 26 - no idea of date on these but they are nice things 20:00 the pair too.
