Cycling Book Recommendations

It's all about the bike - Robert Penn

The cyclist who went out in the cold - Tim Moore, you will have some good laughs wit this one

"A dog in a hat" and "Come and gone", both autobiographical, by Joe Parkin are really good, and i enjoyed "We begin our ascent" by Joe Mungo Reed, which is a fictional account of doping in pro cycling.

I see there has already been a recommendation for Charlie Chadwick’s writings. I keep coming back to them. It’s been quite a pleasure to retrace his rides when I’m up in north wales.

Really enjoyed ' in search of Robert Millar' by Richard Moore unravelling the mystery of his / her wilderness years . Also ' Field of Fire ' by Jeff Connor which is a follow up but far better and more detailed retelling of the British Escapade in the 87 TDF. Thirdly 'Sprinter' by Malcolm Elliott which for me gives the best insight to the state of Pro cycling in the 80's, I found it to be very Frank and eye opening especially about contracts and deals done to assemble trade teams.
